Neenah
Located in the center of one of Wisconsin's fastest-growing metropolitan areas, the City of Neenah (pop. 24,719) still retains its small-town community feel. An integral part of one of the 50 largest manufacturing centers in the nation, Neenah is home to Plexus Corporation, a computer products manufacturer; Theda Clark Medical Center, a comprehensive regional health care provider; and Neenah Foundry Company, Inc., on whose manhole covers the city's name can be seen around the world. Neenah is also the city where Kleenex® was invented. Kimberly-Clark Corp., the maker of Kleenex and other consumer products, is one of the top employers in the area. The city's diverse recreational offerings range from an annual "Streetball Challenge" basketball tournament to regional and international soccer tournaments, and weekly sailing regattas on Lake Winnebago. Cultural opportunities include nationally recognized performing arts acts in the Pickard Civic Auditorium and community "Theater in the Park" performances each summer. The Bergstrom-Mahler Museum, which houses the world's largest collection of decorative glass paperweights, exhibits a variety of artwork throughout the year and sponsors an annual art fair each summer. Popular Neenah landmarks include its trademark lighthouse on Kimberly Point, its historic downtown clock tower, and "Playing in the Rain," a sculpture/fountain by native sculptor Dallas Anderson, in Riverside Park.
